Chris Emmerson grew up in southwest Detroit, where his musical journey began over a cassette player, learning to play and write songs from a young age. By 4th grade, he had already formed his first band, and as a teenager, he gained professional performance experience performing alongside his father. Now a multi-instrumentalist and bass player for NKG, Chris also manages technical staging and runs his own studio, recording native Detroit artists. Drawing from his deep musical expertise and love for improvisation, Chris created Elevated Improv, a comprehensive course designed to help guitarists break free from traditional patterns and master the art of improvisation. Through his structured yet flexible teaching, Chris empowers students to unlock their creativity, transform their playing, and confidently navigate the fretboard.
